Set Up an SMS Campaign

Learn how to create and send an SMS campaign in six easy steps, from selecting your communication method to customizing content, targeting recipients, and scheduling delivery.

Step 1 (info)

This is the start page for setting up a campaign. Follow the instructions and click “next” to continue. The choice you make on the "communication method" (SMS) defines the next step (content). If you want to save your campaign and continue working on it later, then click "save as draft”.

Step 2 (content)

Step 2 is where you set the content of your campaign. If you choose SMS in step 1, you will see this page. Write your SMS (with or without merge fields) and click “Next”

Step 3 (recipients)

In step four, you can select who you want to target in your campaign. You have three options:

  • All members.

All members in your program will receive this SMS (except those who have unsubscribed from emails and/or have not accepted the user agreement).

  • Send to an existing segment.

Choose a segment from a dropdown list of previously created segments.

  • Create a new segment.

This option will open the "segment creator" for you to set up the desired segment.

Step 4 (review)

In step five, you review your campaign and make sure everything is correct. If you are sending an SMS, you will see the actual message where it says "Message". To see a live preview with merge data you can click on the view button for each member.

Step 5 (send campaign)

In step six, you send your campaign. You can send it "Now", or at a specific time in the future. "Recurring sending" means that the campaign is repeated as many times as you wish. This can be used, for example, if you set up a campaign to remind those who have not registered their payment cards to go to the website to add their payment cards to earn a bonus. The segment functionality is dynamic. This means that if you set up a segment with members who have 0 cards registered, once a member has registered a card, they will no longer be a part of this segment.
