The Difference Between Member Search and Contact Search
There is a difference between where you search for members and where you search for contacts in your Engage portal.
Member Search
To search for members registered in your database, you need to navigate to “Search” in the toolbar. Click on “Search” and then select “Members.”
In the next window, you can enter a member’s email address or phone number, or you can search using other parameters. Click on “Advanced” if you wish to search using additional parameters.
Then click on “Search” to display information about the specific member. You can click on the member ID itself for more detailed information about the member.
Contact Search
If you want to search for both members and contacts, you can search under “Search.”
Click on the magnifying glass on the right.
A search window will then appear where you can enter either the first name or the last name. The person may not always appear when entering the full name, so try using only the first name first, and then only the last name if you cannot find the person you are looking for.
This function is useful if you are not entirely sure what you are actually looking for. For example, you might be searching for a member with the first name Helene. If you search for Helene, you will see results that include both members and contacts named Helene, as well as those who have Helene as a middle name.
By clicking on the contact you are looking for, you will be able to view information about their membership profile.
